Reforestation Activities
With the support of The National Land Afforestation Promotion Organization and the Shinshu Forest Work, who provide us with the guidance and information necessary for conservation activities, we are engaged in a range of initiatives, including path creation, thinning, selective cutting, removal, planting, building infrastructure, reforestation, and environment beautification.
Objectives of Activities
MCJ Group supports initiatives to tackle climate change, which has become a matter of importance worldwide in recent years, and the reduction of CO2 and other greenhouse gas emissions in response to this. As part of our efforts to tackle SDG Goal “13. Climate Action,” which is an area that has been set as a priority by the Company in the Environment section of our ESG policy, we provide our support to the reforestation activities promoted by The National Land Afforestation Promotion Organization (Public Interest Incorporated Foundation) by contributing to the “Green Fund.”
Nagano Prefecture is where the manufacturing plant of Mouse Computer Co., Ltd. (President: Mr. Hisato Komatsu, Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), a consolidated subsidiary of the Company, is located, and is also the place where many of our employees live. In gratitude for the daily support that we receive from the people of Nagano Prefecture, we have decided to undertake environment-based initiatives in the prefecture aimed at conserving nature.
Details of Activities
On November 21, 2023, we kicked off a forest conservation activity at the “Zendoko MCJ Forest,” located in the Iwakusa district of Naniai in Nagano City. The initial activities were participated in by officers and employees of MCJ and Mouse Computer, including the planting of a ceremonial North Japanese hill cherry tree, thinning out/selective cutting, and a tree cross-cutting experience using a chainsaw.
